Gill Burrow, Chair of the Raising Standards Committee
Gill Burrow
I have spent my career in teaching and been a Headteacher of two very contrasting schools. My first headship was in an area of significant deprivation, where I took on a school in Special Measures. I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and with a supportive staff team, we quickly moved the school on to become a Good school. In my second Headship of an Outstanding school, we were in the top 100 schools for several consecutive years and became a National Teaching School. I was accredited as a National Leader of Education and supported several other schools to become Good. I was a Consortia Lead for my Local Authority and have many years of experience in inspection work. I currently work for a Multi Academy Trust as a School Improvement Lead and am a Diocesan Officer of Education for Manchester Diocese. I thoroughly enjoy being a Governor at St Barnabas and am proud of our many achievements.
